Maison Gomme 150

A Garden Office

Maison Gomme transforms waste into a compact workspace with pitched roof geometry and integrated skylight. The vertical tire cladding establishes a rhythmic facade pattern while providing thermal mass and weather protection. Reclaimed wood from the demolished original structure forms the primary framework, supplemented with KABK art school panels and salvaged street furniture. Isolation glass from a bankrupted glass shop enables natural lighting, while restaurant plate stainless steel provides detailing. Office ceiling panels insulate the floor plane. Designed on the flow, the structure’s form emerged directly from available material inventory rather than predetermined plans, allowing construction methodology to follow material properties and on-site conditions.
