Recropolis 1470

Recropolis (Lowlands Festival)

200 IBC containers arranged as illuminated letters spelling D-U-R-S-T. Strobe starters fitted to D and U create blinking effect, momentarily transforming letters into W and O—generating alternating text sequence WURST-DURST-DORST-WORST. This linguistic intervention, unasked by festival organizers, emerged as Refunc’s autonomous contribution. The container structure’s official function: concealing video installation producing bullet-time imagery (Matrix effect). The IBCs shift from industrial liquid transport to architectural letterforms to kinetic light sculpture, their cubic modularity determining both construction logic and visual rhythm.
