Mobile Workshop (Lithuania)
A shipping container retrofitted with five washing machine windows served as mobile research station on the local market. We collaborated with elderly women from a knitting club to investigate how their traditional techniques could apply to Refunc. Their expertise in pattern structures and textile construction offered potential methods for our circular design practice. The repurposed windows provided visibility into the workspace while demonstrating our function-shifting approach. This temporary station tested whether established craft knowledge could generate new strategies for material reuse, examining the intersection between skilled making and Refunc’s philosophy of transformation.
