Audiopolis
Invited by TodaysArt, Refunc encountered thousands of forgotten audio cassettes in Kuwait. Rather than prescribing their new function, we developed an interlocking weaving system that demonstrated how anything can become building material. Red and green cassettes stacked horizontally into modular walls and partitions that evolved daily as festival visitors of all ages—from children to elders in traditional dress—engaged with the simple assembly logic. The participatory building process transformed obsolete media into temporary architectures through collective construction, revealing new structural possibilities in discarded materials.
