HKW Berlin Modular Wall System
For the Anthropocene conference at HKW Berlin, stage practicals were function-shifted into vertical dividers to create additional lockable, acoustically separated event spaces without permanent intervention. Cargo straps provided reversible connections between platforms. Translucent panels were integrated to transform opaque theatrical elements into illuminated spatial boundaries, with lighting wrapped around existing concrete columns. The material’s inherent structural logic dictated configuration: predetermined dimensions, tested load paths, reversible assembly. Complete removal without trace, enabling flexible spatial subdivision through functional reinterpretation of locally available infrastructure.
