PARASITE
For Construct Lab’s guest studio at Berlin’s ZKU—a former train station—Refunc designed and built the facade using locally harvested green schoolboards. A wooden frame clad with OSB panels hung from the roof’s steel beams. The chalk-marked schoolboards provided the exterior skin for this suspended structure, maintaining their didactic function as writable surfaces. Function shifted from horizontal classroom wall to vertical architectural facade. The boards’ existing frames allowed direct attachment to the OSB substrate, their communicative chalk-marked membrane intact.
