beer table 2320

It was in 1950 that the Swabian entrepreneur Rudolf Kurz felt the necessity to develop stable
and stackable tables. Not beer festivals, but wine festivals gave him the idea for the furniture
pieces. The frames were wooden at first, but knew the same system that locks the sheet to
the frame as we know today. The beer furniture became popular only from the 1970’s onwards when they were
introduced to the Oktoberfest in München. Around five people fit on one bench.

A set of beer furniture consists of one table and two benches with a solid wooden sheet and
metal frames. The table is 77 cm high, 50 cm wide and 220 cm long. The two benches have
the same length as the table, are 48 cm high and 25 cm wide.
