BUILD WITH WHAT IS ALREADY THERE
Re-connecting people and material
The problem we solve: things are thrown away or shredded while they could still do something else, because nobody looks at what they could become.
Most of what your next project needs is already lying around. We find it, read what it is structurally prepared to become, and shift it into its next function.
Industry builds that possibility in by accident: standard dimensions, durability far beyond the first use, modular assembly. Most of it is thrown away or ground back into raw material after that first use, and the form that was ready for a next function goes with it. We use that possibility on purpose. The result is a tiny house, an interior, an object or an installation in public space, made from material that costs less than new and carries its own character. When something has to be new, we reuse the factory that makes it…
Waste is a design failure. It is decided at the drawing table, not at the container.
Twenty-five years of pilot projects, and four ways to work with us: a space, from a tiny house to an interior; an object, one or a series, made from what comes free where you are; education, from one lecture to a workshop of several days; and tools to find out and design for yourself. For a company it often starts with a scan of what comes free, and what it could still become.
A few of the projects. Every picture opens its card.
